What is "Samatvam" in Sanskrit?



"Samatvam" means complete equanimity within oneself and with everybody else, with nature and with the whole cosmos. It is the state where one's entire being becomes calm and quiet and one is able to think, to decide and to solve problems of life with absolute tranquility, it means being able to keep the mind steady and balanced in every condition of life. It is the ability to have presence of mind and to remain serene, calm and peaceful even in adverse conditions. This equanimity is achieved through Hatha Yoga, the world’s oldest and most complete system of psychophysical exercises developed by the Sages of ancient India. Hatha Yoga exercises or asanas, in conjunction with proper breathing harmonize the body with the mind. Hatha Yoga maintains the overall health of the nervous system and promotes optimal functionality of the endocrine and lymphatic systems. Harmonizing the mind and achieving "Samatvam" is made possible through this ancient science of Yoga, Meditation and the amazing system of Ayurveda.
